1 Peter - Suffering Part One

In this sermon on 1 Peter 3, we consider what it means to live “the good life” as followers of Jesus, even in the midst of suffering and persecution. Peter reminds us that true hope is not found in comfort, health, wealth, or perfect relationships, but in confidence in God’s presence, promises, and faithfulness. Believers are called to pursue peace, love one another, forgive, and be ready to give a reason for the hope we have in Christ.

1 Peter - Suffering Part Two

This message from 1 Peter 4:1–11 teaches how Christians can prepare for suffering by glorifying God, living distinctly from the world, and staying rooted in prayer and church community. God’s wisdom leads to life, while self-reliance leads us away from Him.

1 Peter - Born Again

1 Peter - Born Again

This message introduces a new series through 1 Peter, highlighting Peter’s close relationship with Jesus and the encouragement he offers to believers facing hardship. 1 Peter - Calling to Holiness

1 Peter - Calling to Holiness

In week two of our 1 Peter series, we explore how the prophets, the Holy Spirit, and the whole story of Scripture point us to the living hope found in Jesus Christ. Peter calls believers to prepare their minds, set their hope fully on God’s grace, and resist being shaped by the world’s passions. Because we have been ransomed by the precious blood of Christ, we are invited to live with holy reverence, confidence, and obedience in the midst of hardship.

1 Peter - Love From God to One Another

In week three of our study in 1 Peter, we look at 1 Peter 1:22–2:3 and Peter’s call for believers to live out sincere, brotherly love as a community rooted in the hope and power of Christ. Because we have been born again through the living and enduring Word of God, we are called to put away malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. As we long for the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word, we grow together into the kind of loving, Christ-centered church God has called us to be.

1 Peter - Interactions with Authority

In this message from 1 Peter 2:11–17, Mike reminds us that followers of Jesus are “foreigners and exiles” who live in this world while belonging to God’s kingdom. Rather than withdrawing or simply waiting for heaven, Christians are called to remember their identity in Christ and live faithfully, honorably, and lovingly wherever God has placed them. The gospel creates people who resist evil, do good, serve others, and participate in Jesus’ work of restoring the world.

By

This message from 1 Peter 2:4–10 shows how Jesus is the living cornerstone—chosen and precious to God, yet rejected by people. Because of Christ, believers are made into “living stones,” built together as God’s family and called to live as a holy priesthood with purpose and mission. The message challenges us to stay rooted in Jesus, strengthen the body of Christ, and intentionally share God’s love with the world.

1 Peter - Slavery

1 Peter - Slavery

This message explores 1 Peter 2:18–25 and the difficult call to honor, respect, and submit to authority while keeping our ultimate allegiance to God. It challenges our culture’s focus on personal rights by pointing to Jesus, who willingly suffered unjustly and entrusted Himself to the Father. As followers of Christ, we are invited to live in true freedom by fearing God, loving others, and responding in ways that point people to the hope and confidence we have in Him.

1 Peter - Alert and Ready to Resist

In this concluding message from 1 Peter, we are challenged to be sober-minded and watchful, recognizing that the enemy often works through obvious sin, spiritual apathy, and everyday distractions. Peter reminds believers that even in suffering, God Himself will restore, strengthen, confirm, and establish those who place their hope in Christ. Through Scripture and powerful testimonies of faithful Christians who endured suffering, we are encouraged to set our hope fully on Jesus and remain steadfast in faith.
